The purpose of our document library and information centre is to provide up-to-date data and answers to specific queries. The sole aim is to provide the resources needed to the public, speedily and effectively.
ECSECC stakeholders, policy makers, researchers, public and private sector practitioners can freely access the information they need.
Our user friendly socio-economic database, titled ‘Statistics at your finger tips’, provides users with accurate and up-to-date statistics on demographics, economics, access to services, labour market, poverty and development indicators.
ECSECC stakeholders, policy makers, researchers, public and private sector practitioners can freely access the information.
The data is mainly sourced from StatsSA, with some data from Government Departments, Development Agencies, and ECSECC.
Statistics at your finger tips
Comprehensive coverage and easy accessibility are some of the advantages that this tool offers. The database covers four areas.
- National (Republic of South Africa)
- Provincial (Eastern Cape)
- Eastern Cape Magisterial Districts (including Nelson Mandela Metropolitan Municipality and Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality), and
- Eastern Cape Local Municipalities
ECSECC provides Government officials with basic training on how economic indicators are derived, interpreted and analysed for development and policy purposes. Local municipalities in the Eastern Cape are encouraged to use this database for planning purposes. This will enable a single data source point throughout the province.
‘Statistics at your fingertips’ is an excel spreadsheet with easy to use census and other Statistical Information for the Eastern Cape Province.
